The Mesh Community Guidelines
Building a community of founders who help each other succeed
Last updated: December 2024
The Mesh is Casike's founder community - a network where entrepreneurs connect, share experiences, and help each other navigate the challenges of building a business. Unlike traditional professional networks, The Mesh is designed for genuine peer support, not sales or self-promotion. These guidelines ensure it stays that way.
Core Principles
Give, Then Get
Contribute to the community first. Help others before seeking help yourself. Your intro access unlocks after you've added value.
Peers, Not Prospects
Everyone here is a founder. We're peers supporting peers, not leads to convert. Sales pitches have no place in The Mesh.
Confidential by Default
What's shared in The Mesh stays in The Mesh. Don't share others' challenges or insights outside without explicit permission.
Quality Over Quantity
You have limited intros per week by design. Make each connection meaningful. Mass outreach is impossible here.
TL;DR - The Golden Rule
Treat every founder the way you'd want to be treated when you're struggling with a challenge. Be helpful, be honest, be human. Don't sell, don't spam, don't share what others told you in confidence.
What is The Mesh?
The Mesh is an AI-mediated founder community. Unlike LinkedIn or Twitter, you don't browse profiles or send cold messages. Instead, Casike analyzes your business signals and connects you with founders who: • Have solved challenges you're facing • Are at a similar stage and could benefit from mutual support • Share expertise in areas you need help with Connections happen through two formats: • Intros: 24-48 hour 1:1 conversations with matched founders • Threads: Small group discussions (3-7 founders) around specific topics
Who Can Join?
The Mesh is for Casike users who: • Have an active Casike account with at least one business • Have completed their founder profile • Agree to these community guidelines The Mesh is NOT for: • Agencies looking for clients • Salespeople seeking prospects • Recruiters targeting candidates • Anyone whose primary goal is promotion rather than participation
How Connections Work
You cannot browse or search for other founders. All connections are mediated by Casike: 1. Casike detects a signal (challenge, milestone, or pattern) in your business 2. It finds founders who could help or benefit from connecting 3. Both parties receive context about why this match makes sense 4. If both accept, a time-boxed conversation begins This design prevents: • Cold outreach and spam • Mass connection requests • Low-quality networking
Trust Levels
Your access to The Mesh grows as you demonstrate good community behavior: New Member: • Can join threads • Cannot initiate intros • Building trust through participation Establishing (after 2+ thread participations): • Can initiate 2 intros per week • Unlocked basic matching Trusted (5+ successful intros, low decline rate): • Can initiate 5 intros per week • Priority matching Verified (20+ intros, excellent reputation, zero reports): • Can initiate 10 intros per week • Featured in relevant threads
Expected Behavior
✓ Be genuinely helpful - Share your experiences honestly ✓ Be responsive - If you accept an intro, engage meaningfully ✓ Be respectful - Founders are busy; value their time ✓ Be specific - Generic advice helps no one ✓ Be honest - Don't pretend expertise you don't have ✓ Give feedback - Rate your intros and threads to improve matching ✓ Report issues - Help us keep the community safe
Prohibited Behavior
✗ Selling services or products ✗ Recruiting or hiring solicitation ✗ Requesting contact info to continue conversations outside The Mesh ✗ Sharing links to your website, calendar, or portfolio ✗ Promoting your business, content, or personal brand ✗ Sharing others' challenges or insights outside The Mesh ✗ Harassment, discrimination, or hostile behavior ✗ Impersonation or misrepresentation ✗ Spam or automated messaging ✗ Circumventing rate limits or trust systems
Content Guidelines
Messages in The Mesh are automatically moderated. The following will be blocked: • Sales pitches: "We offer services that...", "Book a call to..." • Contact requests: Sharing email, phone, WhatsApp, LinkedIn • External links: URLs to websites, Calendly, Zoom, etc. • Promotional language: "Check out my...", "Download our..." If your message is blocked, you'll see why and can revise it. Repeated violations result in warnings and eventual suspension.
Intro Etiquette
When you receive an intro: • Respond within 24 hours (intros expire) • Read the context Casike provides • Be present - this is a conversation, not a pitch • Be honest if you can't help • Rate the experience when it closes When you initiate an intro: • Respect the weekly limit • Be clear about what you're seeking • Be prepared to give before you get • Accept "no" gracefully (don't argue declines) • Learn from declines - high decline rates pause your access
Thread Etiquette
Threads are small group discussions: • Stay on topic - Threads have a specific focus • Share substantively - "Great point!" adds nothing • Be concise - Others are reading too • Attribute insights - Credit other founders when referencing their ideas • Don't dominate - Let others contribute • Engage meaningfully - If you join, participate
Reporting Violations
If someone violates these guidelines: 1. Use the Report button in the conversation 2. Select the type of violation 3. Add any relevant context We review all reports within 24 hours. False reports are themselves a violation. What happens after a report: • 1-2 reports: Review and warning if confirmed • 3+ reports: Temporary suspension pending review • 5+ reports: Automatic suspension
Consequences
Violations result in escalating consequences: Warning: • First-time minor violations • Message explaining the issue • No access restriction Cooldown (24-72 hours): • Repeated minor violations • High intro decline rate • Temporary intro pause Suspension (30 days): • Serious violations • Multiple reports • Full Mesh access revoked Permanent Ban: • Severe violations (harassment, scams) • Repeated suspensions • Account permanently removed from The Mesh
Appeals
If you believe an action was taken in error: 1. Email community@casike.com with "Mesh Appeal" in the subject 2. Include your account email and explanation 3. We'll review within 5 business days Appeals are reviewed by humans, not automated systems.
